These have to be one of my all time favourite things to make. I don't need an occasion, just the need, which to be honest are most days. They are super simple, quick to make and devour.
Ingredients & Equipment
Strawberries - Depending on how many people you are making them for I like to do 4 per person. If you are having them after a meal or with a drink in the garden
Your favourite chocolate - I like to use a large bar of Cadbury Diary Milk 500g for 16 strawberries
Water, Paper Towel, Parchment paper, large spoon, Pan and a Pyrex Bowl
Gently wash your strawberries under the cold tap and dry off with a paper towel, the strawberries must be completely dry
Cover your baking tray with a sheet of parchment paper
Heat some water in a pan and place your pyrex bowl over the pan
Break your chocolate into the bowl and melt over the heat gently, stirring the chocolate as it melts.
Once the chocolate has melted, turn the stove off
Hold the strawberry by the leaves at the top and start dipping the lower part of the strawberry into the chocolate. Be sure to cover all sides throughly, apart from the top where you are holding and allow the excess to drip back into your bowl
Place the strawberry onto your parchment paper/baking tray and repeat until you have the desired number of chocolate covered strawberries.
Place them in the fridge for an hour or until the chocolate is set/firm and serve ideally with a glass of chilled champagne. Keep them in the fridge until you are ready to serve otherwise they will go soft and melt. Eat on the day you make them for the tastiest results.
